Front of House Manager— Either/Or:
We’re looking for a Front of House Manager to help lead a vibrant, family-friendly restaurant known for great food, drinks, and hospitality! This role is perfect for someone who has a lead-by-example leadership style, thrives in high-volume situations, and cares about providing quality items for the DSM community. 

What This Role Actually Looks Like:
This is a hands-on, floor-first leadership role. This looks like:
  • Leading busy services with confidence.
  • Managing reservations and guest flow using Toast waitlist.
  • Stepping in where needed (expo, bar support, guest interaction), whatever helps keep our service sharp.
  • Setting the tone for professionalism, urgency, and hospitality every shift.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the floor during service: drive pace, flow, and guest experience. 
  • Train, coach, and develop FOH staff through hands-on leadership. 
  • Lead effective pre-shift meetings with clear priorities and expectations. 
  • Handle guest feedback and service issues with confidence and professionalism.
  • Maintain strong communication between FOH staff and leadership. 
  • Support bar operations, including cleanliness, organization, and inventory. 
 
Compensation Structure:
  • Negotiable hourly pay based on experience.

Our burgers feature 100% Iowa Certified Angus Beef ground in-house by our culinary team daily. Our steaks are trimmed by hand to ensure maximum flavor and tenderness. We fly to California each year to personally select and harvest our caviar. All of our cocktails feature juice hand-squeezed by our bar team. Our beer list features a curated list of familiar favorites along with exclusive out-of-state offerings. Never frozen, bagged, or duplicated; if we’re not proud of it, we don’t serve it.

Either/Or sits on a spacious 1.5 acres on Grand Avenue just down the street from Val Air Ballroom and historic Valley Junction. E/O’s massive outdoor space includes a covered patio for dining, five fire pits, a children’s playscape, and an acre of grass and green space overlooking Aliber soccer fields and the bike path. Either step inside to be immersed in a homey, eclectic vibe filled with vibrant textures or ground yourself outdoors in the backyard patio party. Either/Or’s diverse offerings make it a great spot for date night, a boisterous evening out with friends, or a bite to eat with family.
